Day 1:

Cairo

We welcome you to Egypt! Keep an eye out for the Travel Talk sign for your transfer to the hotel in the Cairo terminal. Prepare for an informal meeting with your guide and other tour members in the lobby around 6:00pm. After that, you have free time to begin exploring Cairo's lively streets or join a cruise for an optional group dinner. Accommodation The Oasis Hotel is a four-star establishment. Day 2:

Cairo City Tour, Overnight Sleeper Train

Set your alarm at 7.30 a.m. and eat a hearty meal before spending the day touring Egypt's renowned Ancient Wonders of the World, the Pyramids and Sphinx! Take a tour of the ancient site with your guide to learn about the 4,600-year-old wonders. After everyone has had their fill of amazement, we'll travel to Sakkara to visit the famous step pyramid, which was built in 2700 B.C. Board an overnight sleeper train to Aswan later in the day. Accommodation Meals on overnight sleeper trains are included. Breakfast and dinner are included in the activities. Day 3:

Aswan

Wake up in Aswan, ready to go on a city tour with your local guide. Visit the Unfinished Obelisk to learn about the extraordinary construction methods used to make the four-sided, signature monuments seen at Egyptian temple entrances. Take some time to wander around the 42-metre-long laying bed of granite and learn about its significance from your guide. Visit the Philae Temple, which is devoted to the goddess Isis, the heavenly mother of the pharaohs. The temple is wonderfully situated on an island in the middle of the Nile. We will then arrive at the hotel for check-in at 5.30pm, with the option of attending a traditional Nubian meal that evening. Accommodation Tolip Hotel -Included are 5 star meals. Day 4:

Aswan

Enjoy a free morning to explore Aswan and the Nile River at your leisure. If you have time in the afternoon, you can take the optional trip to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Abu Simbel. Day 5:

Daily Felucca cruise on the Nile

It's time to unwind and enjoy the cold breeze of the Nile. Take a classic Felucca sailboat to the Elephantine and Kitchener Islands on the Nile. Day 6:

Edfu, Kom Ombo, Luxor

As we reboard the coach and head north towards Kom Ombo. Visit the Kom Ombo Temple, which is devoted to the crocodile god Sobek. The next visit will be Edfu, which has one of Egypt's largest and best-preserved temples. The temple was dedicated to the falcon deity Horus and was constructed over the course of 180 years, from 237 BC to 57 BC. We'll arrive in Luxor in the late afternoon and visit the Luxor Temple in the evening. Explore the dimly lit temple after dark and hear about the temple complex's historic history, which dates back to the 14th century B.C. from your guide. Day 7:

Luxor, Overnight Sleeper Train

The Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon are up next. Your Egyptologist guide will enlighten you on the temple complex's most intriguing myths and mythologies. Are you feeling daring? Take a hot air balloon flight over Luxor, which is optional.
