Discover the historical and natural wonders feel amazing of Thailand with this total six day tour from Bangkok in the centre to Chiang Mai in the north. Cover all the main heritages site such as such as the Ayutthaya and Phitsanulok and explore the infamous Golden Triangle, that is one of the world’s leading opium-producing areas.
This spectacular six-day travel from the capital to northern Thailand begins with palaces, ancient ruins, temples, and monkeys. Arrive at the meeting spot at 06:45 a.m., where you will be picked up to begin the tour. Visit Rama V's exquisite Summer Palace in Bang Pa-In. Continue to the historic capital of Ayutthaya and visit the Ayutthaya Historical Park to see the ancient temples of Wat Yai Chaimongkhon, Wat Mahathat, and Wat Phanan Choeng. Lunch will be served at a restaurant in Chai Nat before proceeding to Phitsanulok for a quick orientation tour of the city. Register at your hotel. Spend the night in Phitsanulok. Lunch is provided!
After breakfast, proceed to Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat to join the villagers in their morning prayers and offerings at this mediaeval temple that holds one of Thailand's most venerated Buddha statues. Then travel to Sukhothai to visit this old city full of historical landmarks, the most remarkable of which is the Sukhothai Historical Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Admire the ruins temples and palaces, as well as the large Buddha sculptures. Lunch on the way at a nearby restaurant.A short drive away is Si Satchanalai, which has the evocative remains of a half-dozen temples, notably Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat, which may be reached by crossing a wooden suspension bridge, as well as several Buddha and elephant statues. After that, travel to the Golden Triangle, which connects Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar.Because of the considerable opium growing in the area, this natural wilderness received unwelcome renown in the 1960s. Then, take a boat ride around the Golden Triangle, stopping at Don Sao Island, which is part of Laos (the boat ride lasts around 45 minutes). After that, go to the 212 House of Opium and look at its unusual collection of opium paraphernalia like weights, scales, and pipes. Begin the day with a lively start at the fragrant and vibrant Chiang Rai morning market, followed by a brief stop at the Wat Phra Kaew temple. After that, go further into local culture at the Hill Tribe Museum and Education Centre, which explains the lives of the area's mountain peoples as well as the problems they face in order to survive. Continue on to Tha Tonne for lunch before continuing on to the old city of Chiang Mai. Visit Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, one of Thailand's most respected temples, upon arrival. Breakfast first, followed by a visit to the Queen Sirikit Botanical Garden in Mae Rim, which opened in 1992. The Banana Avenue route leads you to a fantastic collection of over 200 distinct species of banana trees, mostly from Southeast Asia. Visit the Tropical Rainforest house, which has a floor area of 1,000 square metres and is 33 metres tall, and contains a diverse array of tropical species such as palms, banana trees, and ginger plants. Then, take a trip inside the magnificent Orchid House and endure Thailand's largest canopy walkway, composed of steel with glass viewing platforms every 50 to 100 metres. Look down at the subtropical jungle vegetation beneath your feet or around at the mountains in the distance. This tour is followed by lunch at a nearby restaurant. Then, proceed to the Baan Tipmanee woodworking shop to understand how these artisans create Chiang Mai's most well-known carved wooden objects. In the evening, an optional khantoke meal is available.
